Morning Reflections

Painted from the public beach in Ephraim, Wisconsin, during the Door County Plein Air Festival, July 2023. This is my favorite scene to paint in Door County and I've painted a version of it every year for 16 years during the festival, usually on the first day. This year it was nearly the end of the week before the light was right, and a thick fog was just lifting. The light and atmosphere was magical and I had to work quickly to capture it before the fog completely burned off.
